School's Out for Summer!

Week 20

Is there such a thing as a boring week? This week was crazy too. It was the last week of school! We have a new Principal at our campus and I helped interview for a new Assistant Principal this week. I for got home from the school at about 9pm on Tuesday night and we worked until 8pm on Thursday night. Did I mention how crazy children are the last week of school? I am getting pretty big, so I am not sure how this happened, but I was invisible to children this week. I finally had to save my energy and let those little people enjoy their final days. Working late Thursday allowed us to have the day off on Friday. I ran a bunch of errands in preparation for the weekend. Friday night, we had Caitie’s Graduation Party. Caitie would have been a great babysitter, but she is going off to college in Florida. Her parents, Tom and Sue, have been great neighbors and we will miss them. They gave us Caitie’s little rocking chair from when she was a toddler. We have watched her grow up way too quickly and do not want to think about how quickly you will grow.

Saturday, we had our nephew Logan’s 5th birthday party at a swim park. I know that our lives are about to change drastically and that we will be going swimming and playing outside a lot more. Logan even gave you one of his stuffed snake party favors. It is pink too! After that, we were able to stop by Mae’s housewarming party and see several friends that we had not seen in years. We had not even had a chance to tell several of our closer friends that we were pregnant. It was good to see everyone and celebrate with Mae. After that, we went car shopping at a couple of dealerships. We still have a lot of work to do though to make sure we get you the safest car possible. It was  great weekend and summer is officially here for your mommy.

Baby Size- Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana.

Developments- She's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first soiled diaper.

Cravings- Food.

Symptoms- Heartburn is becoming more constant. I am also continuing to grow larger. Maybe both of these have something to do with what I am eating. Hmmm? She is also moving at night at about 10:45 on the dot. So fun! Chris even felt her move this week.
